Ways for you to be part of the Crew...
Are you passionate about the cause? Are you looking for ways to make a difference? Do you want to gain valuable employment skills and meet new people? If you answered 'Yes' to any of these questions, then HCAAT may be the group for you!
Volunteering with HCAAT is one of the best ways to learn new skills and gain the experience you may need to become a paid Peer Leader with HCAAT.
The Hamilton Crew for Action Against Tobacco welcomes volunteers to join us in our Youth Action Alliance. HCAAT is a youth and adult collaborative group whose aim is to provide our community with the facts about the tobacco industry. Our mission is to expose Big Tobacco’s lies so others can make informed decisions.
If you are interested in a challenge, making a difference in your community, advocating for a worthwhile cause and building your résumé, then HCAAT is for you! We offer Event-based and Leadership volunteer opportunities.
Event-based Volunteers will usually only take part in HCAAT events. Volunteers can assist in various capacities such as: staffing a display, handing out information, event set-up and/or take-down and various street marketing activities. This position is perfect if you just want to earn a few hours and are not looking for a steady commitment.
Leadership Volunteers will work with Peer Leaders as part of the action planning and execution team on a regular and ongoing basis. Some of the tasks a Leadership Volunteer will be doing include: planning and participating in events and activities, planning and giving presentations, designing and creating various materials, recruitment and or being on the HCAAT executive.
